Clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, and FC Barcelona are a few of the biggest clubs in the world, with the biggest social media presence among all clubs. However, does this social media presence directly translate to kit sales?

The clubs that feature on the list, and those who don’t

Spanish club Real Madrid was second on the list, followed by Liverpool in third place and Manchester United fourth. The stat was all the more surprising as neither United nor PSG was in first place despite the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi respectively.

PSG was sitting as low as the ninth place on the list, below the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and Juventus. Barcelona and Manchester City (in last place) finished in the top ten. Surprisingly, both the North London clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, did not feature in the list.

The absence of Serie A clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Napoli wasn’t surprising, but it was a fall from grace from the days of yore when Serie A was one of the best leagues in the world.
