Lionel Messi is one of the biggest superstars in the world. He’s arguably the greatest to ever grace a football pitch and has the star power to go with that. This was evident when American rapper Kanye West mentioned Messi in a song.

“Donda” was finally released on Sunday after West kept pushing the date back. He organized three separate listening parties for the album, and after a lot of chopping and changing, the album is finally out now. Kanye mentioned Messi in a song named Off the Grid, which features Fivio Foreign and Playboy Carti alongside him.

This was the first time he has ever included Lionel Messi in a song. Moreover, Kanye is not known to be an avid football fan. Messi wasn’t the only athlete who was name-dropped in the album, as Kanye also mentioned Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in a track named Junya, featuring Playboi Carti again.

The lyrics were: “I won with the bucks, boy / Let me Giannis.
