Chelsea FC are going through a terrible time this season after the UK government enforced several sanctions on the club. After club owner Roman Abramovich’s assets in the UK were frozen, Chelsea were barred from making any signings in the transfer market and even renewing the contracts of their players.
The club were hit with financial regulations that have now stopped them from selling any seats in their stadiums and from making any money off club merchandise.
They won’t be allowed to travel like they did before either, as their travel budget has been reduced to a measly 20,000 euros per trip. Further adding to their misery, Chelsea’s kit sponsor, Three, also suspended their partnership with the club.

Thomas Tuchel talks about the prospects of the club
However, despite all of these hardships, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is optimistic and gave the club’s fans some hope. Speaking for the first time after Chelsea’s match against Norwich, Tuchel revealed that spirits were high in the Chelsea camp.
“As long as we have enough shirts and a bus to drive to the games, we’ll be there and will compete hard,” Tuchel said.
The German manager is showing an iron will and is dealing with the situation in the best possible way. He has also said that he hopes the entire situation will be resolved by the end of the season, but there is still a long way to go before that.

The manager spoke about the club’s current situation and revealed that the team is aware of the controversy surrounding it. It’s all very volatile and the squad cannot change a thing about it. However, Tuchel did say that he has a strong team and that he was happy to be at Chelsea.
“I’m still happy to be here, still happy to be the manager of a strong football team and I’m happy to play the match today. I know there’s a lot of noise around and still, we allow ourselves to try our best to focus on football,” Tuchel added.
