The prospect of having the best players in the world is exciting for every single club owner in the world, and if the player is as huge as Lionel Messi, everyone would jump at the chance. Inter Miami’s co-owner and former footballer David Beckham is no different.
The Englishman is one of the most famous players of all time and has played for the biggest clubs in the world, like Manchester United and Real Madrid. He has retired after stints in the MLS and is now trying his hand at owning his own club.

David Beckham speaks about the possibility of signing Lionel Messi
It hasn’t gone as well as it could have as Miami had a surprisingly underwhelming season last year in the MLS. However, they are trying to steady the ship now and Beckham has a few ideas. The Englishman spoke to the Daily Mail and addressed rumors of Lionel Messi signing for his team.
“I’ve always said I want the best players in our club and playing in our shirt because there’s a certain expectation. Unfortunately, sometimes it can be a bad thing. But most of the time it’s a good thing. When I first started this project, people were saying ‘This guy is coming, that guy is coming, [Cristiano] Ronaldo is coming, Messi’s coming,” Beckham said.

“At the end of the day, we need to win, whether it’s with the young kids or stars. Our fans will be happy if we have stars on the team, but they’ll be even happier if they’re seeing young players coming through our academy and lifting the MLS Cup,” he concluded.
