In the 2000s, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney made the headlines playing together for Manchester United. And once again, the duo is in the news. But this time the reasons are different.

Appearing on Monday Night Football earlier this week, Rooney claimed Cristiano?s return to Old Trafford has not worked out so far.

The former England International admitted Ronaldo is still a goal threat. But according to him, Manchester United needs more young and hungry players at the moment.

Thus, by saying so, Wayne Rooney has also raised question marks on Ronaldo?s future at Manchester United.

Following his appearance on Monday Night Football, Rooney posted a picture of him from the show alongside presenter David Jones and Jamie Carragher.

After the Derby County manager?s Instagram post, Ronaldo fired a shot at his former teammate by writing ?Two jealous? in the comment section.

Ronaldo?s former teammate noted his comment. During a press conference, Wayne Rooney gave a classy response to the ?jealous? comment from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Derby County manager said, “Who isn’t jealous of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner? There’s probably not a football player on the planet that isn’t jealous of Cristiano.”

“The career he’s had, the trophies he’s won, the money he’s earned … the six-pack, his body. I think every player, bar probably Lionel Messi, is jealous of Cristiano,” Wayne added. (H/T: ESPN)

How has Cristiano Ronaldo performed for Manchester United so far this season?

If you go by stats, then one certainly cannot claim that Ronaldo had a poor campaign so far as compared to his Man United teammates.

During the UEFA Champions League Group Stage matches, CR7 had helped the Red Devils to get over the line time and again.

Some fans also consider Ronaldo as the reason behind Manchester United qualifying for the knockout rounds.

Currently, Ronaldo is United?s highest goal scorer. He had scored 12 goals in 24 PL appearances this season.
