FC Barcelona was once one of the biggest clubs in the world and the days of their glory have since become extinct. However, it looks like the club is on the right track again after making a lot of shrewd signings and appointing their former club legend Xavi, to become the manager of the club.
While the Spaniard couldn’t help Barca stay in the UCL (the club dropped into the Europa League for the first time since 2003), he has turned the ship around in the league. Barca was outside of the top six in the league when they sacked Ronald Koeman and appointed Xavi, but they are now fourth in the league, just two points away from Real Betis in 3rd place with a game in hand.
Xavi has done wonders for the club, and it has all been done because of the apparent change in the club’s training methods. In a reel uploaded by the club on Instagram, FC Barcelona stars were captured involving the bottle-flip challenge in their training regime, another Xavi masterclass.

FC Barcelona and their prospects in the league this season
While unorthodox training methods have helped them climb the ranks in La Liga, they still need to hold on to their place. If they win their game in hand, the club will end up in 3rd place, a result that was impossible before the appointment of Xavi.
Now, if the club keeps on going like this, they can even catch Sevilla, who are sitting in second place with 47 points from 23 games, just nine points above Barca right now. It’ll be interesting to see how Barca’s winter additions perform in the league this season.
