The World Cup in Qatar is almost here and the USMNT fans are very excited for the tournament. They finally made it to the biggest competition in the world after missing out on it in 2014 and 2018, and this time around, they have a really good team.

However, placed in a group with England and Iran, it won’t be easy for the Americans. It might get much more tougher when they find out which nation would join their group as the fourth team.

The winner of the play-off final match between Wales and Ukraine will make it to the World Cup in Qatar.

USMNT set to learn about their future opponents

Ukraine beat Scotland convincingly to get to this stage and has a lot of added motivation going into this final. On the other hand, Wales has never made it to the World Cup since the 1950s, giving them the opportunity to do something several Welsh generations before them couldn’t do.

However, no matter how important this game might be to the Welsh, Ukraine’s struggles with the ongoing war must not be understated. The people of their nation are still suffering, and watching their team make it to the World Cup under these horrible circumstances will be a huge morale boost for all of them.

Ukraine is also the stronger team, and if they do make it to the World Cup, will provide a harder test to the USMNT than Wales. Moreover, their confidence would be sky-high at that point.

Wales coach speaks about the match

The Wales manager, Rob Page, has a few ideas of his own on how to tackle this match. He complimented Ukraine’s performance against Scotland and revealed that he would need to count on his senior players to provide the push needed to win a match of this magnitude.

“We’ve analysed the game and Ukraine pose a threat. They’re there for a reason, they’re a good outfit. We understand the importance, but we’ve got a plan in place and it’s about trusting the plan now,” Rob Page said.
