There is something special about international football that is just mystical. Fans of all rival clubs put their differences aside to unite and support their nation, especially in the World Cup. Fans of the USMNT will go through this phenomenon as the World Cup edges closer.
The USMNT didn’t make it to the competition last time and has a lot to prove in Qatar. However, they have got nothing in that department on their group stage opponents, Wales. The European nation hasn’t made it to a World Cup in the last 64 years, finally qualifying again this year after beating Ukraine.

Rob Page thinks that Wales has winnable games against the USMNT and Iran
Wales could be viewed as a team with nothing to lose considering their absence from the World Cup, but that couldn’t be more further from the truth. This could be the last appearance for most of the players in their national team. Welsh superstar Gareth Bale is almost certainly retiring after the World Cup is over.
This team has a lot to play for, and they will bring it all in their first game. Wales play the USMNT in their first World Cup match, and Welsh manager Rob Page is really optimistic about the match-up. Speaking to BBC Wales, Page revealed that while the USMNT is a strong team, it’s a winnable game for Wales.
“We have played against the USA. We know they are a really strong outfit. They [and Iran] are winnable games and when you play against a home nation’s team, anything can happen,” Page said.

Wales can beat anybody
Page didn’t stop there and added that his side will play in the World Cup with a lot of confidence. He talked about the team’s attitude of not backing down and was optimistic about their chances in Qatar.
“We will go out there with the confidence we have had going into any game. We will go toe to toe with anybody — bring it on. That’s the attitude we have got in that changing room,” he added.
