The USMNT have several great players playing in Europe and making a name for themselves. While players like Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie and Giovanni Reyna are the most high-profile Americans in Europe, players like Tyler Adams, Chris Richards and Sergino Dest go under the radar.

USMNT striker Jordan Pefok belongs under the latter category, as he had a highly impressive spell last season with BSC Young Boys in Belgium. In 32 league games last season, Pefok managed to score an impressive 22 goals and added four assists to his tally.

Pefok also scored two goals in the Champions League against Manchester United and Atalanta BC.

His incredible form saw him linked with several clubs all around Europe. At one point, Borussia Dortmund was also interested in a move for him but instead chose to sign 20-year-old Karim Adeyemi from FC Salzburg.

Pefok was then linked with a move to another Bundesliga club Union Berlin, and the transfer finally occurred. Pefok joined Union Berlin as the German club looks to improve ahead of their campaign in the Europa League.

Berlin lost their striker Taiwo Awoniyi to newly-promoted Premier League club Nottingham Forrest and signed the Belgian league’s top scorer to replace him.
