Christian Pulisic is the best football player in America. The USMNT captain must have a lot of weight on his relatively young shoulders, especially this year. The World Cup in Qatar is merely months away, and Pulisic has the responsibility of guiding his team through the group stages.

However, the pressure on him finally seems like it’s breaking him as the 23-year-old forward had another failed season with Chelsea in the Premier League. He joined the club in 2019 and has not established himself in Thomas Tuchel’s starting eleven.

His talent has never come under question, it’s his consistency that has let him down, and if things continue like this next season too, there will be a full-blown crisis.

Christian Pulisic removes Chelsea from his bio

However, it seems like Pulisic won’t let things stay the same way next season. The American forward needs game time before the World Cup, and if he won’t get it at Chelsea, he might need to leave. Pulisic has been linked with a move away from the club, but nothing concrete has materialized.

There is the possibility of him finding a loan move to another club, but that too would take some time to orchestrate. Meanwhile, Pulisic caused quite a ruckus on social media when he reportedly took Chelsea off his Instagram bio. Reports also stated that the USMNT captain will have a talk with Chelsea regarding his future.

Only time will tell whether “Captain America” will stay at the club or not.

Pulisic’s form in the Premier League

In the 2021/22 season, Pulisic played 22 Premier League games for Chelsea and managed an output of six goals and two assists. In his 38 appearances for the club this year (mostly from the bench), he has scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists.

He has been better this year than his injury-plagued 2020/21 season, but his numbers have dropped since his first year with the club. Pulisic scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in his first season with the club, showing a lot of promise.
