The World Cup in Qatar is just around the corner. This edition of the competition is different from the ones held before as it is being organized in the months of November and December. There is a lot of excitement in the world of football, as fans can’t wait to see the spectacle.
The entire country of Qatar had gone into overdrive to build eight brand new fully-air conditioned stadiums before the end of the year. However, it has all been worth it as the country’s economy would receive a huge boost from all the tourism.
That has already been proved when a recent report by Planning and Statistics Authority revealed that the hotel occupancy in Qatar has increased by 56%.

The hotels in Qatar are profiting from the World Cup
According to a report by Doha News, the price of an average room increased by 50 QAR. It’s a worrying trait as it’s only February and the prices of the hotels will only increase when December comes around. However, the organizers of the competition have assured fans that affordable accommodation would be provided.
Moreover, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) also added that Qatar would have 130,000 rooms for the incoming spectators.
With fans of 32 different nations expected to show up in the country, the problem of accommodation was always going to be a huge one. However, it seems like the nation has it covered, as long as the prices of the rooms don’t keep increasing.

Teams that are favorites for the competition
France were the winners in the last edition of the competition in 2018. Their team has arguably improved since then, and the return of Karim Benzema to the national team set-up would only help their chances of winning the World Cup.
Countries like Brazil and England also have incredibly strong squads and can challenge for the title. Moreover, countries like Germany and Spain are relative underdogs in the competition.
