Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers of all time, and the Portuguese forward is proving the same even at 36. He is a consistent starter for Manchester United and has been the club’s top scorer this season, amidst a difficult time for the Red Devils.
His goals have helped the club massively in the UEFA Champions League, but things haven’t been the same in the Premier League. Manchester United were sitting in 7th place until their crucial win against West Ham today. Now, they have temporarily risen to 4th place.

Ralf Rangnick speaks about Ronaldo and his tantrum against Brentford
United have turned the tide around, first with a win over Brentford and then against West Ham. However, the biggest talking point in their match against Brentford was the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo was very angry after being subbed off.
He appeared to have a minor altercation with his manager, Ralf Rangnick, but things were soon squashed after United took home all three points. Now, Rangnick spoke about the incident in an interview before United’s match against West Ham and was very honest with the media.
“The team is more important than no matter who it is — Cristiano [Ronaldo], Edinson Cavani, Bruno Fernandes or any other player. It’s about what is in the best interests of the team,” Rangnick said.
Certainly, it was a clear message to Ronaldo, and every other player in the Manchester United squad, of who’s incharge.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his form for the club
Ronaldo’s return to United hasn’t gone as well as he would have liked. The club qualified in the first place from their UCL group, but they failed to replicate that form domestically. Ronaldo’s goals (6 goals in 5 matches) single-handedly buoyed them to the knockout stages in the UCL.
Like his club, Ronaldo’s output has been subpar by his incredibly lofty standards, as the Portuguese forward has only scored 8 goals in the PL, along with 3 assists in 18 games. Undoubtedly, he’ll try to get his numbers up, and if United keep winning like this, Ronaldo would benefit as well.
