The 2021 transfer window has been wild so far seeing two of the biggest superstars join new teams. First it was the news of Lionel Messi signing with French giants Paris Saint-Germain and then it was the shocking departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus to join Manchester United.
Ronaldo was certainly the most important player in the Juve lineup. The 36-year-old will hope that he can replicate this form in his second stint in the Premier League.

Juventus lose multiple followers with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the most popular player in the world. Ronaldo has an incredible following and is the most followed sports personality in the Internet. Given his immense popularity, the Portuguese not only adds quality to the team, he also brings a number of fans.
This was evident when Ronaldo moved to Juventus. Back in 2018, when CR7’s departure from Real Madrid was a shock, Juve were the ultimate winners as they reportedly gained 6 million followers in social media after the move.

This trend has continued in the 2021 transfer window as well. While Manchester United have reportedly gained millions of followers after the move, the transfer hasn’t bode well for Juventus.
According to Social tracker, ever since the Ronaldo departure was announced, Juve have lost around 248,288 followers in the last three days. This certainly speaks volumes about the impact of a player like CR7 on a club. This move by the Italian giants might comeback to haunt them.
While Ronaldo did take up much of the wage budget with his whooping contract demands, the 5-time Ballon D’or winner made it up with his incredible goal output. Scoring 101 goals, the Portuguese was a poacher. With Ronaldo’s departure, Juventus now lack a bona-fide goalscorer in their side.
