Chelsea were supposed to challenge for the Premier League this season after winning the UEFA Champions League last season. However, it all ended when they lost to Manchester City after a wonder strike from their former player, Kevin De Bruyne.
Thomas Tuchel has done a good job at Chelsea, but the German manager couldn’t find a way to get his attack working against City’s defence. Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech had bad games, but it was the performance of Romelu Lukaku which irked fans the most.

Fans criticise Romelu Lukaku on Twitter
The Belgian forward had previously got into troubled waters with Chelsea fans after he publicly flirted with Inter Milan and said that he regrets leaving Italy. Since then, Tuchel has publicly reprimanded Lukaku, and he apologised to Chelsea fans for his interview.
He had also promised to prove his worth on the pitch, but after another miserable outing, fans are frustrated with him.

Lukaku missed an easy opportunity versus City and his link-up play was horrible. While Pulisic and Ziyech were bad as well, Lukaku was exceptionally bad, and he hasn’t lived up to his price tag yet. One Manchester United fan (Lukaku’s former club) mentioned how Lukaku can never be a 100 million Euro striker.
I'm sorry but Lukaku will never look like a £100m striker

Lukaku has always been accused of ghosting in big games, and his performances for Chelsea haven’t done anything to change this stereotype. One user on Twitter mentioned this in a tweet trolling Lukaku.

A United fan on Twitter mentioned how the Red Devils would have received a lot of flak if they had spent that amount of money on Lukaku and Kepa Arrizabalaga (another questionable signing by the club).
Imagine the state of the internet if it was Manchester United that spent €200 million on Lukaku and Kepa.

Lukaku greets international teammate Kevin De Bruyne after the loss
The Belgian forward hugged and shared a handshake with his international teammate and City rival de Bruyne after the loss. While both of them are great friends, fans didn’t like seeing it after such a stinging loss.
Lukaku is so shameless and I love it 😭

A Chelsea fan was so fed up with Lukaku that he compared him with another former Premier League legend, Olivier Giroud. Dubois, the fan, said that the only thing Lukaku had over Giroud was pace, and even that was pointless.
The only thing Lukaku has over Giroud is pace and he uses most of that to chase his own bloody first touch.
