Premier League football reached new levels of entertainment on Thursday in the game between Everton and Newcastle United. There was a bit of everything in the match; a late winner, a controversial red card, and a pitch invader who turned out to be a John Lennon lookalike.
On top of it all, Everton manager Frank Lampard broke his hand while celebrating his team’s 1-0 win. However, the conversation was all centered around the pitch invader who tied himself to Everton’s goal post to protest against England’s new oil fields.
Several people spoke about his looks, which reminded them of the Riddler from the new Batman movie, and Rock legend, John Lennon.

Fans compare the pitch invader to John Lennon
While the protestor might have wanted his message to get across, his stunt did not really work out in the end. He did get a lot of publicity, but fans were too fascinated by the absurdity of the situation to focus on his message. One fan made even compared him to John Lennon and said that he was angry about the fuel prices in England.

The Riddler is free again
However, John Lennon wasn’t the only celebrity the protestor was compared to. Twitter fans also compared him to a character from the new Batman movie, the Riddler. The Riddler was the villain in the movie and was sent to prison in the ending scenes, and naturally, people made fun of that.

People roast Everton by using the pitch invader
Rival fans didn’t let Everton’s win go under the radar and made sure to remind the club’s fans how terrible their season has been so far. One Southampton fan pointed out that the club has only won one game in 2022.
