Real Madrid are one of the biggest soccer clubs on the planet. Their dream run to the UEFA Champions League title this season just cemented that point. This victory took their total UCL title tally to 14, the most out of any club on the planet.

However, everything did not go smoothly for the Los Blancos after their UCL win. Long-time target Kylian Mbappe snubbed them and signed a new deal with Paris Saint Germain in very dramatic circumstances. Now, the club will try to save face and look at the transfer market to strengthen their already strong team.

If the Athletic is to be believed, they might have already done so. Madrid had been negotiating with AS Monaco for the transfer of their 22-year-old midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni. The negotiations had been going on for around a week after the French midfielder had agreed to personal terms with Madrid.

The Athletic reported that both Monaco and Madrid have finally agreed on a transfer fee that crosses €100 million. It’s a lot of money for a relatively young player, but this isn’t a new strategy for the La Liga champions. They have shifted their transfer strategy and now go for signing younger talents.

They did the same thing with Brazilian trio Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao, all of whom have been vital for the club this season. Moreover, they also signed Eduardo Camavinga last season, who’s still only 19.

Real Madrid and their midfield for the future

With the addition of 22-year-old Tchouameni, Madrid has one of the best young groups of midfielders on the planet. Camavinga and Valverde are the two other players who have done a fantastic job for the Los Blancos in the middle of the park.

The strongest aspect of this midfield trio is their adaptability. Both Camavinga and Tchouameni can play as defensive midfielders and box-to-box midfielders. While on the other hand, Valverde has played all across the pitch for Madrid and performed excellently.
