It has been widely publicized that Real Madrid is in some financial trouble. While the club isn’t bankrupt by any means, the Blancos haven’t signed a big-money player in three years. However, two could potentially arrive at the same time in Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
La Liga’s president Javier Tebas revealed that Real Madrid can sign both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe next summer, making light of the club’s financial struggles.
“They [Real Madrid] have sold €200 million worth of players. They have enough money to sign both Mbappe and Haaland together. They have not lost money. On top of that, they have sold assets,” Tebas revealed in an interview with Cadena COPE.

However, this is not quite the financial operation it might appear to be. Erling Haaland has a clause in his contract with Dortmund that allows him to leave the German club next year for around 65 million euros. While he will demand some huge wages, (and some huge agent fees on the side), the deal is still doable.
On the other hand, Mbappe was linked with a move to Real Madrid all summer and the transfer saga will continue next year as well. Madrid made two bids of over 180 million euros for the Frenchman, but PSG turned them down. Mbappe’s contract expires next summer and if the forward doesn’t sign a deal, PSG will lose him for free.
How will Real Madrid line up with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland?
Real Madrid is not short of goals right now as both Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. have been in fine form this season. However, Benzema is getting old, and if Madrid sign both Haaland and Mbappe, one of them will replace Benzema in the long run.

Right now, the Frenchman is Madrid’s and possibly La Liga’s best player, and it’s likely that both Mbappe and Haaland play off the shoulders of Benzema. The structure would look similar to the front three Carlo Ancelotti used (Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo) in his previous spell at Real Madrid.

Haaland will take Cristiano Ronaldo’s position while Mbappe will deputize for Gareth Bale. However, nothing is close yet, and Madrid are yet to sign any one of the two.
