Qatar-owned Paris Saint Germain has taken some drastic steps to keep French superstar Kylian Mbappe at the club. The side announced a massive deal just hours ago which will see Arctos Partners become minority shareholders within the club. This is a move for the club, as the new influx of money could help the Parisians offer Mbappe a better deal to stop him from moving to a different club.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi commented on the deal, claiming it’s a step in the positive direction. According to reports, the club will use this investment to develop PSG’s operations and support the club’s strategic plans. Fans will hope that the deal can help the side retain the services of Mbappe, with the Frenchman the key pillar for the defending Ligue 1 champions.

Paris Saint Germain made a massive announcement just hours ago. The Qatar-owned club released a media statement citing that the club has partnered up with Arctos Partners, who now have the requisite stake.

According to PSG’s statement, “Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and Arctos Partners (Arctos) have entered into “a strategic partnership and investment agreement which will see Arctos acquire a minority stake in the capital of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the most successful club in France and one of the largest multi-sport brands in the world.”

This is a big deal for PSG considering there have been clouds of uncertainty over Kylian Mbappe’s future with the club. The player has refused to extend his contract with the side and will walk out as a free agent during the summer of 2024.

Kylian Mbappe and PSG still at a standstill over a new contract

The Parisian side is trying their best to keep a hold of Kylian Mbappe. The player will become a free agent next summer and can openly negotiate his contract with sides across Europe. PSG does not want to lose the player for free at any cost and wants to get the player to pen a new deal with the side.

The Frenchman, however, has denied all advances from PSG and is looking for novel challenges in his career. Spanish giant Real Madrid has been touted as a potential destination for the French ace, as the side is said to be keenly observing the situation in the French capital.
