How will the greatest players of all time do in positions they are not familiar with? While a few players have been excellent in several positions, like Joshua Kimmich and Franz Beckenbauer, forwards like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are less likely to do so well in other positions.

Both Ronaldo and Messi are two of the best players of all time and have played in different positions in attack, but PSG star Ander Herrera has some more ideas for Messi. Speaking about his new teammate, Herrera revealed that “Leo could be the best right-back; the best left-back, everything except goalkeeper.

Journalist Bolarinwa Olajide reported on the comments with a tweet.

However, it’s hard to agree with Herrera’s words as Messi has never been good at defending. His stature and trickery will be amazing for a team like Liverpool, who use their fullbacks to create chances. If in case Messi was to play in a team like Atletico Madrid, the Argentinian would struggle.

Moreover, Messi is too short to be a goalkeeper with a height of 169 cm (5 ft 7 inches). Herrera wasn’t wrong with his point there, but one fan hilariously responded to Olajide’s tweet with a video of Lionel Messi defending against Bayern Munich.

Lionel Messi and his form for Paris Saint Germain:

Messi has only played two matches for the Parisian club, one substitute appearance against Reims and a start in the UEFA Champions League against Club Brugge. However, he is yet to score or assist in these two appearances. Messi started with Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. in the match against Club Brugge.

The performance against Reims wasn’t very eye-catching as the forward didn’t really make a difference after coming in for Neymar Jr. He did link well with Kylian Mbappe, but things weren’t so good in his second match.

PSG Draw to Club Brugge in the UCL.

With the firepower at PSG’s disposal, it was only fitting that Ander Herrera scored the only goal for PSG. Club Brugge snatched a draw from the game as PSG’s front three failed to deliver.

Messi had a great chance saved by Simon Mignolet in the 70th minute, and the Belgian keeper was on his toes throughout the match. The trio will take some time to deliver, and if they do, it will be a spectacle to behold.
