Manchester United are set to write a new page in the club’s history with the appointment of Erik Ten Hag. The Dutch manager will join the club next season and fans are very excited. However, Paris Saint Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t feel the same way.

According to a report from The Athletic, Poch was shocked when he saw that United had confirmed the signing of Ten Hag. The Argentinian had received no communication from the club about his own interviews and was reportedly expecting to be informed.

Moreover, Pochettino’s representatives had been in touch with United this month, and the PSG manager was gathering information about the city of Manchester, and the club’s players. However, all of that was in vain, as United decided to go forward with Ten Hag.

United announce the signing of Erik Ten Hag

The Reds were going to appoint a new manager in the Summer after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier this season. Ralf Rangnick stepped up to be the club’s interim manager and helped the club formulate a plan for the future.

Reportedly, the German manager did have a say in Erik Ten Hag’s appointment and has been impressed by the football his teams play. Ten Hag is currently managing Dutch club Ajax since 2017 and has won a lot of fans for his style of football.

The great Ajax team of 2018/19 is one of the most memorable underdog stories in the history of the Champions League, as Ten Hag’s men knocked out Real Madrid and Juventus on their way to the semi-finals. However, they were then knocked out by Tottenham Hotspur courtesy of a last-minute goal from Lucas Moura.
