Manchester United are in a state of concern, after the sacking of Norwegian manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The results were horrible in the league and now the club needs to bounce back to salvage a season where they signed Raphael Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Jadon Sancho.

Among those rumored for the role at United, the favorite candidate is current PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino. Poch was sacked from his former club Tottenham Hotspur after a string of terrible showings. However, he later joined Paris Saint Germain and currently coaches Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and many other stars.

Mauricio Pochettino signs a Manchester United shirt for a fan

Heavily linked to the Manchester United job again, he set United fans’ hearts racing as he signed a Manchester United shirt for a fan outside the PSG team hotel. While it doesn’t seem like much, fans would take all the hints they can get, during this time of crisis.

Michael Carrick is the club’s current interim manager and has won his first game in charge against Villareal in the UCL. Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo were the two goalscorers as the United defense kept their first clean sheet in a long time.

However, United are actively looking for a new manager, both interim and long term. If they can get someone like Pochettino and save this season, they’ll take the opportunity with both hands. Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag was another man linked to the Reds, but he, too, might want to see the season out with the Dutch club.

Leaving the club in the hands of Carrick would be a huge risk, but gambles like those have worked out for United before. Nevertheless, it’ll be interesting to see if they can get Mauricio Pochettino at Old Trafford.
