Star player Kylian Mbappe came under heavy criticism with rumors indicating rifts with other strikers in the team. Moreover, it was his missed penalty that led to France’s knockout against Switzerland. In a recent interview, the Frenchman cleared the air on his national team future.

“French national team above everything” – Kylian Mbappe
In a heart-to-heart with French newspaper L’Equipe, Kylian Mbappe revealed how important the French national team is for him. He continued that he has never taken a single penny to play for the team as he does it for the love of it. “I have never taken a single Euro to play for the French national team and I will always play for my national team for free. Above all, I never wanted to be a problem.”

The talented Frenchman then addressed the rumors from the media about him and the other dressing room problems. He denied those accusations and stated that if he felt that he was becoming a problem for the team and the team was happier without him, he would be ready to leave.
“But from the moment where I felt like that I was starting to become a problem and that people felt I was a problem… The most important thing is the French national team and if the French national team is happier without me, it is like that.”
