Manchester United lost their first game of the UEFA Champions League against BSC Young Boys as two errors cost them dearly. It was Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s red card that changed the game in the first half. However, it was Jesse Lingard who misplaced the telling pass.
The England international gave the ball away in the last minutes of the game via a loose pass, and the Young Boys’ player Theoson Siebatcheu, pounced on it to finish past a helpless De Gea. While Lingard received some hate online for the pass, the player is still widely appreciated by the fanbase.

Lingard put up a post on Instagram talking about his actions and apologised for his error. However, the entire United squad came and showed their support for the forward. Paul Pogba was one of them as he had a few deep words for Lingard.
“The true measure of success it’s how many time you can bounce back from failure. We strong, bro,” Pogba commented.

The Englishman also got some support from Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Juan Mata and the official Manchester United account, among others.
“Last night hurt. Every time I pull on the United shirt, I hope people understand what it means to me. I always go out wanting to do the best for the club, the team and especially the fans,” Lingard said.
The forward also revealed how he never wanted to lose any games and is hopeful for the game against West Ham. The Hammers are a tough opposition as David Moyes has put together an amazing squad with the relatively low funds at his disposal.
