Chelsea FC is in a state of disarray this season after the sanctions placed on the club by the UK government. Their owner, Roman Abramovich, is almost done with the process of selling the club, and Chelsea will have a new owner very soon.

As a result, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the club, and players aren’t sure about their future. Defenders Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, and Andreas Christensen are all ready to leave the club on free transfers next season, and that could just be the beginning.

Chelsea superstar Romelu Lukaku might leave the club too

However, things weren’t supposed to be this way. Chelsea broke the bank to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club, in the hopes of winning the league. They had won the Champions League under Tuchel, and a player like Lukaku could transform the squad.

Sadly, Lukaku never got going at the club and is now being linked with a move away to Paris Saint Germain. If the French club were to sign him, he would probably replace Kylian Mbappe at the club. Mbappe’s contract is also set to expire in three months, and if he doesn’t sign a new contract, several clubs will be scrambling to sign him.

Moreover, Lukaku will get the opportunity to play with the likes of Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi at a club where the domestic league is far easier than the Premier League.

Lukaku scored 24 goals and added 11 assists in 36 Serie A games last season, and was only behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for being the top scorer. However, things haven’t gone well for him at Chelsea, and he has only managed to score five goals in 20 Premier League games.
