The world of football would feel truly empty without footballers from Brazil. Players like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario and Garrincha all hailed from the South American nation, and have made many a fan with their skills. It’s Neymar Jr who’s carrying that mantle now.

The Paris Saint Germain forward has been one of the best players in the world for several years now. However, he never could make that push to become the very best. PSG has also struggled to do anything substantial in Europe despite signing the biggest names there are.

As a result, the union of PSG and Neymar Jr is one that can break very easily. Maybe this is the season when it finally ends.

Neymar Jr wants to stay at PSG

The Brazilian forward has been linked with a move to several clubs over the years. A return to Barcelona always came up every single season, but it never really happened. Now, Neymar has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Chelsea.

However, it seems like that’s now where his heart lies. In a press conference during PSG’s pre-season tour, the winger revealed that he wants to stay at the club. However, PSG hasn’t given him any assurances, and no one knows what will happen next.

“I still want to stay at the club. Until now, the club haven’t told me anything so I don’t know what their plans are for me,” he said.

The Brazilian star has nothing to prove to anyone

PSG’s manager Christophe Galtier mirrored Neymar’s statements. However, he did add that Neymar looked happy in the training sessions. The forward said as much when he dismissed the criticism levied at him and revealed that he has nothing left to prove to anyone.

“The truth is that I have nothing to prove to anyone. People speak too much because they can do nothing else. They know me, they know how I am, how I play. I have nothing to show. I love playing football, I’m happy,” he added.
