Manchester United have always been a hub for controversy ever since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure. The Great Scotsman was adept at handling huge egos in his dressing room, but it hasn’t gone as smoothly with his successors at the club.

Players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, and Cristiano Ronaldo are global superstars, who would ideally ground themselves and play for the badge. While there has been no indication that these players have caused problems in the dressing room, the rumor mill keeps on churning.

As a result, handling the egos of a dressing room as big as United’s is a task that only a select few can manage. The Reds would hope that Erik Ten Hag is one of those select few.

Erik Ten Hag has some stern words for the United dressing room

Manchester United announced the appointment of Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag yesterday. The Ajax manager had been linked with the job for months, and it all came to fruition this week.

Ten Hag will join the club next season and will oversee a massive overhaul of the squad, to help the team challenge for the biggest trophies. As a result, handling the dressing room would be important. In an interview with Dutch publication Trouw, the Ajax manager revealed that he won’t change his vision for the big superstars in the squad, and would be happy to impose his will.

“I will stay myself in that. I won’t change my vision. I will tell them [big players] their task and whoever does not meet those tasks will hear that from me, no matter who it is,” Ten Hag said.
