Manchester United are having a terrible time this year in the Premier League as they sit in 7th place after playing half of the season. Following another shocking loss to Wolves, the club is now in desperate need of points to salvage their domestic campaign.
However, things were very different during the start of the season when United was considered favorites for the Premier League title. They had just signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and long-time target, Jadon Sancho. They had a wonderful start to the season and were in first place for the first few games.

The Manchester United post that went viral
After United won the first game of the season with a 5-1 thumping of fierce rivals Leeds United, fans were ecstatic. Bruno Fernandes got a hat-trick and Paul Pogba got four assists in the same match. Nothing could go wrong at the time and the fans were happy.
That early-season excitement is coming back to haunt them now as they sacked their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and appointed German manager Ralf Rangnick as an interim manager. After their most recent loss, a post from Manchester United’s Twitter account has gone viral where the club celebrated their first win of the season.

The silver lining this season for the Reds
While things have been hard in the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League is a different story altogether. Cristiano Ronaldo has stepped up for Manchester United and helped them qualify to the knockout stages of the competition with his six goals in five matches.
From this point on, United have zero chances of winning the league, and a spot in the top four seems far too distant right now. However, if they manage to make a deep run in the UCL, there will be some hope for Ralf Rangnick’s reign at Manchester United for next season.
