After several years of continuous success, Manchester United have finally withered away. This season will be their fifth consecutive year without a trophy, and fans aren’t happy with the state of the club, or the level of the United squad.

Players like Harry Maguire and Paul Pogba have massively underperformed after showing patches of brilliance at the beginning of the season, and they aren’t the only ones to do so. Things got so bad at a point that United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked, and the new interim manager Ralf Rangnick would’ve been sacked too if there was anything at stake.

Paul Pogba set to join Paris Saint Germain next season

After this disastrous season, it’s easy to understand why several team members might want to leave the club. United’s record signing, Paul Pogba, is now reportedly close to leaving the club on a free transfer next season to join Paris Saint Germain.

Pogba started the season in brilliant fashion after registering seven assists in just four games. However, he suffered an injury that ruled him out for over four months. His return to the squad wasn’t impactful, as United kept losing important games.

Pogba has been outstanding for his nation every single time he has played and has expressed his unhappiness at United several times. PSG’s midfield would definitely receive a great boost with his addition, as the likes of Veratti and Paredes would enjoy someone with Pogba’s vision lining up with them.

Cristiano Ronaldo might leave Manchester United too

However, Paul Pogba isn’t the only United player who is set to leave the club. Cristiano Ronaldo has made a name for himself in the Champions League and is the competition’s best-ever player by far. At the rate that United are going, they won’t make it into the top four of the Premier League table.

It’s yet to be seen if Ronaldo will still want to stay at a club in danger of missing out on European football altogether. Things have gone horribly wrong for Manchester United, and it’s going to be hard to see the club building themselves back up.
