Manchester United have been in a whirlwind season this year as nothing has gone completely right for the club. The season started brilliantly for the Reds as they had an amazing transfer window, signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane.
However, things started going downhill very quickly. United had to sack their manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in the middle of the season, and appoint Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis. Moreover, the club is out of contention for all domestic competitions, with the UCL being their only hope of stopping this trophyless drought of five years.

Harry Maguire makes the situation clear
In the middle of all of this, a few reports came out that the squad was feeling divided. It was said that club captain Harry Maguire was reportedly feeling undermined by the presence Cristiano Ronaldo has in the dressing room. Things only got worse when Rangnick asked Ronaldo to mentor the young players of the group.
However, Maguire took to Twitter to respond to all the rumors. He mentioned that the squad is united and focused on their game against Leeds on Sunday.
“I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that aren’t true and this is another. Not going to start posting about everything that is written but I needed to make this one clear. We’re united and focused on Sunday. Enjoy your day everyone,” Maguire said.

There were more rumors that Rangnick was planning on giving the captain’s armband to Ronaldo, but the manager addressed them in an interview. The German manager revealed that he hadn’t spoken to either Maguire or Ronaldo about any change in the captaincy.
“I must say this is absolute nonsense. I have never spoken with any player about a possible change of captaincy. Harry is fully aware of that and so is Cristiano and are all the other players. This has never been an issue for me,” Rangnick said.
