Notably, Front Office Sports revealed that City has announced a deal with Sony, its new virtual fan engagement partner. According to Sports Pro Media, they will conduct a proof of concept (PoC) with Sony, which will leverage the company?s technologies and City?s fanbase to develop new forms of digital content.

“Welcome to the metaverse, Man City. Manchester City has announced a deal with Sony, its new virtual fan engagement partner,” Front Office Sports said in the tweet.?
The tweet also mentioned that the goal is to create a virtual model of the Etihad Stadium in the metaverse and treat it like a community hub for fans.
“Together, they will recreate The Etihad Stadium in the metaverse, looking to create a global online community where fans can interact,” they added.?

City’s form in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester City has been breaking several records under their legendary manager, Pep Guardiola, and this season too, they are en route to do the same. However, domestic success is not their main priority right now.

Losing the UCL final to Chelsea last season was quite a heavy blow for the English champions. Having been knocked out by Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinals in previous years, this was the closest they had come to get their hands on the title.
Currently, they sit at the top of their UCL group, having already qualified with 12 points of 5 games. Moreover, with some expensive purchases in the summer this season, City will certainly hope to challenge for the title and end their European trophy drought.
