Liverpool are one of the best teams in the world and have been so for the last few years. Jurgen Klopp has been one of the key factors in their rise as he has brought in players like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to help elevate the level at Merseyside.

Jurgen Klopp talks about Salah’s contract renewal problems

Mo Salah has definitely been Liverpool’s best player across his four seasons and he has taken a step up again this season. The Egyptian forward has been one of the best players in the world alongside Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.

However, he is earning a measly 240000 euros a week, which isn’t on par with the best players in the league. As a result, he is demanding a new contract and deservedly so. Jurgen Klopp was asked about Salah’s wage demands and he said that talks are ongoing and that there are no problems.

Signing a big contract, it is not like buying a smartphone where you just sign one thing and it is done. I wouldn’t say there is a problem, to be honest – these are conversations. There are a lot of things to consider,” Klopp said.

His words might be worrying for a few Liverpool fans who would love to keep Salah at all costs. If there’s a possibility that they lose Salah, it might be impossible to replace a superstar like him.

Mohamed Salah and his stats for Liverpool this season

He has been in a similar form in the UEFA Champions League too, where the Egyptian forward has scored 7 goals in 6 games. His numbers have been world-class, and if he keeps this form up, he’ll surely be in contention to win the Ballon d’Or.
