Mohamed Salah was already one of the best players in the Premier League last season. However, the Egyptian has taken things up a notch and has a genuine shout for being one of the greatest players in the world right now. Salah has played eight times in the Premier League and has scored seven goals while adding four assists. Moreover, he has found his spark in the UEFA Champions League and already has five goals in just three matches.

As a result of his performances, Liverpool are sitting third in the table and have a game in hand on the top two teams, Chelsea and Manchester City.

His performances, however, don’t translate well enough to his wages. As many as 22 Premier League players earn more money than Salah’s 200,000 pounds per week. Chief among them are Manchester United signings Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.

Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish are two more arrivals from this transfer window who earn more than the Egyptian.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the player who earns the highest amount of money in the league with weekly wages of 510,000 pounds per week. Manchester City’s star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is also on a deal that sees him bag home a hefty 400,000 pounds per week.

Mohamed Salah has proven that he belongs to the class of these players with his displays. However, it’s yet to be seen if he will get the wages he deserves.

The Egyptian’s contract negotiations have been ongoing for a while and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will meet his demands.

Salah isn’t the only Liverpool player with low wages. Dutch centre-back Virgil van Dijk, comfortably the best CB in the league, earns 220,000 pounds per week and is the highest earner at the club. However, this amount seems paltry in comparison when you consider that he finished second (only behind Lionel Messi) in the Ballon d’Or rankings in 2019.

Additionally, Liverpool’s second-best African star, Sadio Mane, only earns 100,000 pounds at the club. Left-back Andrew Robertson makes the same amount of money, despite being one of the best players in the world in his position.
