The match was played at Old Trafford (United’s home stadium), and the home crowd was devastated after the massacre, along with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite the one-sided scoreline, there were a few controversial moments in the match. Including an incident where Cristiano Ronaldo fouled Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones. However, it didn’t stop there, and the Portuguese forward took his frustration out on the midfielder by kicking the ball into his stomach.

Liverpool fans and the manager, Jurgen Klopp, called for a red card for the incident, but the referee only gave Ronaldo a yellow. Speaking after the match, Klopp revealed that he did agree with the decision. His comments would be frustrating for Ronaldo as they suggest that he has lost his ‘fear factor’ for opposition managers.

Of course in the game, it looked like (it could have been). But in the end, I got told that he kicked the ball after the whistle, or whatever. It’s fine. I don’t want Cristiano getting a red card. For me, it looked like (a red card), but I got convinced or got told at least that it was not,” the German manager said.

He would have been very happy with his sides’ dominant display, especially after their struggles last season. Mohamed Salah continued his excellent form and scored a hattrick. He also had an assist to top it all off. On the other hand, United might sack their manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after most fans have lost their faith in the Norwegian.
