In addition, he also talked about the love that he had for the Spanish club and wants to help them return to their winning days.
“I would love to be a sporting director at some point. I don’t know if it will be Barcelona or not, or if it will be something else. If there’s the chance, I would like to go back. It’s the club I love and I would love them to keep doing well, growing and becoming the best in the world,” the maestro said.

However, FC Barcelona is currently struggling, and the team hasn’t seemed to recover from Messi’s departure. It was alleged that Messi was asked if he was willing to play for free at FC Barcelona, but the forward revealed that no one asked him to do so.
Laporta had previously said that he thought Messi would offer to play for the club for free, but that didn’t sit right with the Argentinian. Messi also revealed that he hasn’t spoken with Laporta ever since those comments.
