Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time and every other day, another record seems to confirm his legacy. He has broken record after record wherever he has gone and he recently won his seventh Ballon d’Or, adding another milestone to his name.
Almost all of his accomplishments have come when he was in Spain, playing with FC Barcelona. Messi recently moved to French club Paris Saint Germain this season after his contract with Barca expired, and he hasn’t stopped his wondrous form in France either.

Messi features in most of the lists of goal-scoring stats around the world
While his goal-scoring exploits have been well documented, some of the records that he has put up are simply mind-blowing. Be it 2012 when he scored 91 goals in one calendar season, or the record that recently made the headlines again after Messi scored against Manchester City.
Out of all the players in the world who have scored the most goals against the Premier League big 6 (Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur), Messi is on the list despite never playing in the Premier League.
Other Premier League greats like Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane are behind Messi’s 27 goals. Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero, Messi’s international teammate, tops the list with a mind-boggling 54 goals. Jamie Vardy, Eden Hazard and Cristiano Ronaldo are above Messi in the list, but it’s still a huge accomplishment for the 34-year-old PSG forward.

Lionel Messi and his form for Paris Saint Germain
Messi has proved his worth for PSG because of his performances in the UEFA Champions League. He has scored five goals already in the UCL and has helped PSG reach the knockout stages of the competition.
Things have been harder for him domestically, where he has only scored one goal in 11 appearances for the club. However, he does have four assists to show for his troubles. It’ll be interesting to see if Messi can bring the UCL to Parc des Princes this season, because if he doesn’t, he might not ever get a chance to do so.
