Lionel Messi is one of the greatest footballers of all time, and as a result, he has a massive global following. Any brand that associates with the Argentinian forward sees a lot of profit, and thus, companies flock to get him to advertise their products.

One of these companies is the Crypto company, Socios. Messi signed a 20 million dollar deal with Socios to promote their brand with the World Cup in Qatar coming up. The deal would run for three years and does not include any payments made in the form of cryptocurrencies.

However, the deal could not have come at a worse time as Socios is currently being investigated by the Premier League for their usage. The company has already partnered with La Liga, Serie A, and UEFA Champions League, but hasn’t done enough to convince the stakeholders at the PL.

PSG were supposed to win it all this season with the kind of squad they had managed to assemble. They had a fantastic summer transfer window, topped off brilliantly by the arrival of Lionel Messi. However, nothing has worked out for them this season.

They were knocked out of all domestic cup competitions, which is a rare occurrence for the club. Moreover, their defeat against Real Madrid in the UCL was the perfect recipe for disaster. When PSG came back to France to play at Parc des Princes, their fans booed Messi and Neymar Jr. every time they got on the ball.

It’s no secret that the Argentinian forward is not happy at PSG. However, where else can he go? On the one hand, several clubs might line up to sign him, while on the other, the financial implications of the deal could be too much for most of them.

He was linked with a move back to FC Barcelona, but club president Joan Laporta refuted all rumors and shut the speculation down.
