However, things are completely different in the UEFA Champions League. Juventus have 12 points from five UCL matches and are second in their group, behind Chelsea, because of their goal difference. Notably, they did beat Chelsea at home, but lost to them in the second match by a shambolic scoreline of 4-0, putting them in danger of finishing second. Nevertheless, they have already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri reveals his favourites for this year’s UCL

Allegri talked about the UCL this season and revealed who he thinks are the teams that would contest for the crown. Interestingly, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United was not on his list of favourites, sparking some controversy.

Favourites for this year’s Champions League? Liverpool, Bayern, Manchester City, Real, PSG,” Allegri said in an interview.

While the above-mentioned clubs indeed have remarkable squads that are performing exceptionally well in their leagues, United, too, have a chance to win it all. Many claim the appointment of Ralf Rangnick is a masterclass move by the United board and fans are buzzing after their team’s recent performance against Crystal Palace.

As for Juventus, they are currently sitting in fifth place in their league table, which is still a lot better than the lowly 10th place they fell to a while ago. They are seven points behind 4th place Atalanta and are in danger of not qualifying for the UCL next season.
