After terrorizing opposition’s defenses with his lethal goal-scoring in the Serie A, Cristiano Ronaldo might be on his way out of Juventus after three long years. After paying a hefty fee to ?100 million, Juve hoped that they finally had the missing piece to win the Champions League.

While the 2018 season was promising, the experienced Italian giants unfortunately crashed out in the quarters. But Juve did not build on this and continued to have an aging squad around the Portuguese.

This led to two subsequent defeats in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Given how Juve have struggled to succeed, the 36-year-old is eager to take his talents elsewhere.

Juventus lining up bid for ex-striker to replace Cristiano Ronaldo

While Ronaldo’s move to Juve might not have worked according to the plan, but the 5-time Ballon D’or certainly did his job, score goals. The primary offensive outlet in Turin, if not for CR7 continued being a bona-fide goal scoring machine.

In the three years he played for the Italian giants, Ronaldo was easily the most prolific goalscorer for the club scoring over 100 goals. Replacing an output like Ronaldo’s will definitely be a big challenge.

After confirming the imminent departure of the 36-year-old, Juventus now have a targeted another striker. According to the latest reports by David Ornstein of the Athletic, Juventus are looking to sign Everton’s Moise Kean.

Kean who started off as a young striker in Juventus was impressive in the 2018-19 season. Scoring 6 goals in 13 appearances, the Italian showed his class and looked like a star in the making.

But unexpectedly, Juve shipped out the Italian to the Premier League. Joining Everton, Kean rarely got an opportunity in the side. With sparse minutes given, Kean saw a significant drop in his output. But the 20-year-old did make a comeback last season with Paris Saint-Germain as he scored 13 goals in 26 appearances in Ligue 1.

The Italian certainly has the talent to flourish and can develop into a superstar. But is he really the answer to replacing Ronaldo’s output of 30 goals per season? With a new look forward line, manager Max Allegri will hope that players like Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata can chip in and gain some much-needed form. Will Juventus struggle post Ronaldo’s exit?
