Real Madrid is one of the greatest clubs on the planet with a history of winning the greatest competitions. They had a fantastic decade in the 2010s where they won four UEFA Champions League titles and had one of the best teams of all time.
Welsh superstar, Gareth Bale, was a huge part of that winning roster. The former Tottenham Hotspur man is still Madrid’s most expensive signing and scored in two of the four UCL finals to help them win. However, his relationship with the club has strained in the past few years.
Bale has only played four games in La Liga for Madrid this season, as he has been completely frozen out of the squad. He hasn’t been a consistent starter in the team since 2018 when his injury troubles began. As a result, several Spanish media outlets have routinely criticized him, sometimes unfairly so.
