Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time, and he has achieved his success by holding himself to the highest standards that are possible in football. However, when his teams start struggling, the Portuguese forward is the first one to recognise his mistakes and correct them to right the course.

He returned to his boyhood club Manchester United this summer in a move that delighted all the fans of the club, but things haven’t been all good. United are struggling in the league and need to get back to winning ways to enter the race for the top four again.

Cristiano Ronaldo talks about the Manchester United squad’s mentality

Ronaldo uploaded a post on Instagram for the New Year detailing his achievements and regrets for the season. Despite scoring 47 goals in 2021, Ronaldo said that it wasn’t an easy year for him by any means. He then talked about Manchester United and revealed that he wasn’t happy.

I’m not happy with what we are achieving in Man United. None of us are happy, I’m sure of that. We know that we have to work harder, play better and deliver way more than we are delivering right now,” Ronaldo said.

The squad can do better than this and it’s up to the manager Ralf Rangnick to help United get back to winning ways. If United do go on a winning run, taking a spot in the top four will be highly likely as they have two games in hand over 4th place Arsenal.
