Thomas Tuchel snaps at a journalist for his questions

Naturally, several journalists turned to Chelsea’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, for more clarity about the entire situation. Ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Luton Town, Tuchel was in a press conference and was understandably annoyed at the number of questions that were being asked of him in relation to the ongoing crisis.

The German manager felt bad repeating his answers over and over again as it wasn’t his place to answer, given football and politics have no relation whatsoever. Hence, he urged the reporters to stop asking him such questions.

No, listen, listen, listen… you have to stop! I’m not a politician, you have to stop honestly. I sit here in peace! I do the best I can, but you have to stop asking me these questions, I have no answers for you,” Tuchel said.

Tuchel wants to keep football in the focus at Chelsea

Tuchel also added that the current rising global tensions are much more important than football, but also highlighted that he has no control over that situation. He wants everyone at the club to stay calm and focus on football currently.

We are calm in the centre of a storm or of some noise around us that we cannot control and we are also not responsible for it. It’s best to stay calm, focus on what we love and what we do. This is a sport,” the manager added.
