Cristiano Ronaldo turned 37 last month. But he still has that hunger to win that has made him the superstar he is today. Even after winning several major honors, it seems CR7 still wants more.

This is nothing but elite mentality; And the exact reason why the Portuguese international stands out from the rest.

During his enormous footballing career, Ronaldo shared the field and dressing room with several talented players. And many of them had a lot to say about CR7. Former Real Madrid footballer Sami Khedira is one of those many.

During a recent interview with ESPN, the German International talked about his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said, “We saw it on the first day, taking shots on goal. He [Cristiano Ronaldo] was so competitive, whether it was that or playing 4-on-4; he’d want to bet on it, say 100 Euros or a bottle of wine.”

“He’s a competitor and if he loses, he gets angry. So nobody wants to let him down,” Sami Khedira added. Notably, Khedira and Ronaldo shared the field and the dressing room on several occasions.

While Cristiano Ronaldo is still competing on the football field, Khedira put an end to his playing career following the end of the 2020/21 season.

The former Juventus midfielder spent his last season at Hertha BSC as he returned to the Bundesliga in 2021.

The Portuguese international has played alongside Khedira during his spell with the Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

Ronaldo played for Madrid from 2010 to 2018 while Khedira left the Santiago Bernabeu in 2015 after making 102 appearances for the club.

During their time in Spain, they also won the UEFA Champions League together in the 2013-14 campaign.

Later, Ronaldo reunited with his former Real Madrid teammate in Turin after signing for Juventus in 2018. Cristiano and Sami won two Serie A titles, (2018/19 and 2019/20) and one Supercoppa Italiana (2018/19) while playing together for Juventus Football Club.
