It’s always a sad day in the world of sport every time an athlete decides to hang up his boots, but it’s even worse when they have to retire because of injuries. This fate befell Premier League legend Sergio Aguero as the Argentinian forward had to retire from football at just 33.
Aguero left Manchester City after winning it all at the club. He joined FC Barcelona this summer and scored a goal for the club in the El Clasico. However, that goal ended up becoming the last goal in his career, as the striker had to retire in October.
Sergio Aguero suffered chest pains and dizziness during Barca’s game against Alaves and had to be substituted. He underwent a few tests and was ruled out of playing football at all by the doctors. He announced his retirement in a tearful press conference with FC Barcelona.
