Cristiano Ronaldo has won almost everything there is to win in the world of football, but the one trophy that is missing from his cabinet is the World Cup, and at the age of 36 (almost 37 now) he doesn’t have a lot of time to win it with Portugal.
His last chance to win it is coming around now in 2022, with the World Cup in Qatar later this year. However, Portugal’s campaign started disastrously as they failed to qualify for the competition directly. They know have to qualify via play-offs and might have to beat European champions Italy to reach the hallowed land.

Manchester United star Fred reveals how Ronaldo felt about not qualifying
Ronaldo’s amazing relationship with United’s Brazilian contingent is well documented. United midfielder Fred has talked about the fact that Ronaldo was upset about not qualifying for the World Cup. He also added that he had talked to Ronaldo directly about this.
“We talk a little bit about this. Of course, he’s very upset about not qualifying directly for the World Cup. But, as a great player and as their captain, he knows how to prepare his teammates in order to qualify,” Fred said.

Fred also talked about Ronaldo’s winning mentality and mentioned how the Portuguese forward wants to win everything at all times. He also added that Cristiano Ronaldo will give his all to be at the World Cup in Qatar.
The Portuguese forward has done wonders in helping United reach the knockout stages of the UCL, with his 6 goals in five games. He also has 8 league goals this season and will try to add to that tally as the season progresses.

To reach the World Cup, Portugal will first face Turkey in the first round of the playoff. If they beat Turkey, they’ll have to face the winner of the match between Italy and North Macedonia, and they’ll qualify for Qatar if they win.
