Manchester City is currently one of the biggest clubs in the world, with certainly one of the best squads. The club has employed a smart transfer strategy along with recruiting one of the greatest coaches of all time in FC Barcelona legend, Pep Guardiola.
Under the Spanish manager, the club has won three Premier League titles and a domestic treble too. They are now chasing their first-ever UEFA Champions League title this season as they play against Sporting in the Round-of-16 of the competition this season.

Guardiola says Kyle Walker ‘deserved’ his red card
The first leg of the tie was a cakewalk for City as they beat the club 5-0 in the first leg. The only blip on that fantastic performance was Kyle Walker’s red card, which got him banned for three games. Guardiola spoke about it before the second leg in the interview and revealed how angry he was with Walker.
Guardiola said that the England right-back did a stupid thing and that he deserves the ban he got.
“He deserves it. Kyle Walker deserves a three-match ban. If one player does this stupid thing, he deserves a three-game ban. I’m sorry. I’m not so kind to Kyle with this kind of action. Still, I’m so angry with him. So angry! No no, he knows. There’s nothing to discuss about that,” he said.

Guardiola went on to say how important the defender has been for Manchester City, especially in the Manchester derby. Walker’s red card came near the end of the match when City were already cruising to victory. The club appealed the ban, but Guardiola revealed that he did not agree with the decision to do so.
He brought up the fact that the ban was similar for two other instances, and he hoped that Walker would learn from this in the future.
“He’s so important, Kyle Walker for us. You see the game he played against United? But Leipzig, qualified already, 75-80 minutes and made this kind of action. So he deserves the three games. The club appealed, but I did not agree. Hopefully, he’ll learn in the future,” Guardiola concluded.
