Future England Superstar Thinking About Representing Ghana Before the World Cup

The World Cup in Qatar is coming up and the national teams are becoming clearer every single day. Nations like France and Brazil are the favorites to win the entire tournament, but this time, the likes of England, Spain, and Argentina are in the mix too.

Tariq Lamptey might represent Ghana

However, the incredible squad depth in this team has meant that other young stars of this team might not even make it. One of those players is Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey. The Chelsea academy graduate has been one of the best right-backs in the league in the past two seasons.

The England U-21 coach Lee Carsley talked about the situation and revealed that the defender is very important for England’s future. He revealed that he has called Lamptey every single day and wondered if he pushed him too hard. However, he did add that nothing is permanent yet and things can always change at any moment.

“He’s asked to be left out of the squad for a bit of headspace. He’s not switched, it’s not cemented or anything like that but he’s had an approach, we respect that,” Carsley said.?
