The world of football is on fire right now as fans are witnessing the greatest transfer window of all time. After Lionel Messi left FC Barcelona to sign with Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United announced the return of their former superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
It’s hard to imagine another transfer window with these many huge moves, but no one could have seen the two players (easily the greatest players of all time) change clubs in the same window. Moreover, there was also a lot of drama involved as Manchester City were also interested.
Ultimately, the move didn’t pan out and City had to pull out of the deal. This was all it took, and United stepped in to get their man. Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes was the one who offered Ronaldo to United and the Reds pounced on the opportunity.

The result? $MANU is up 8%, meaning Ronaldo has added about $250 million in market cap to the stock already.

However, signing Cristiano Ronaldo is no small feat, and the shockwaves could be seen in the financial world too. Finance specialist Joe Pompliano revealed that United’s stock was up by 8%. This meant that after singing Ronaldo, United added about $250 million in market cap to the stock already.
This was almost similar to the drop Ronaldo caused in the price of Coca-Cola shares after he rejected to drink the soft drink in a press conference during his Euros 2020 campaign with Portugal.
This is a significant profit on their investment, which looks like a measly value at this point. According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, United will pay €15m with €8m in add-ons as the fee to Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Additionally, some of the add-ons are relatively easy, and the fee is almost guaranteed to be at least €20m.
Manchester United will pay €15m with €8m in add-ons as fee to Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo. Gonna be around €20m guaranteed to Juventus as some add-ons are ‘easy’. 🔴 #MUFC
Paul Pogba has NEVER been discussed as part of the negotiation with Juve. He’s staying.
