Manchester United’s confusing start to the season is the gift that keeps on giving. The Reds have failed to live up to their potential in the Premier League and simultaneously have done well in the UEFA Champions League, reaching the knockout stages of the competition. However, things have gone from bad to worse and the Cristiano Ronaldo led-side’s latest league defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers has left United in seventh place in the league.
Touted as title contenders at the start of the season, the Red Devils are four points behind fourth-place Arsenal. Fingers are being pointed at the coaching staff and a few players, and even the signing of Ronaldo has been called into question.

Cristiano Ronaldo is under fire from his own dressing room
According to Metro UK, the Portuguese superstar’s presence in the dressing room is highly polarising. Ronaldo’s international teammates (Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot) are heavily influenced by him, and so is the Brazilian contingent at United.
As a result, other senior players like Edinson Cavani, and club captain Harry Maguire, are reportedly concerned about Ronaldo’s ‘undroppable presence’.
If all of this is true, there are some huge problems at Manchester United, and a divided dressing room is the last thing that the club needs.

Luke Shaw speaks about the team after the loss against Wolves
Luke Shaw, a player that has been at United since 2015, opened up about the team’s performance in an interview with Sky Sports and revealed that the team lacked the intensity to win crucial matches like this. He added that he also felt like the team wasn’t playing together, another massive issue that needs addressing.
“Us players, we’ve been here for a long time, we played at home, we know what it is like when we have the intensity, you can feel the motivation is there. But I think tonight we struggled. We didn’t – or I didn’t feel when I was on the pitch that we were all there together. We felt like we were struggling. It was tough,” Shaw said.
