It is that time of the year again when club football reaches its conclusion. The Champions League final is coming up, as all the leagues draw closer to the final day of the season. However, that won’t make much of a difference this year as fans have the World Cup in Qatar to look forward to in December.
People have a lot of expectations from Qatar as the nation has promised an amazing environment for all the fans. It’s expected to be a carnival of football, with teams and fans from 31 other nations set to live in the country for a month. As a result, the ticket sales for the tournament have been outstanding.

FIFA receives 23.5 million requests for the tickets
According to a report from the Times of India, FIFA has received 23.5 million requests for tickets in the latest round of sales. The game that got the most requests was the final on December 18th, with several group games like Argentina vs Mexico and England vs the United States receiving a lot of requests too.
However, such sales might be a bit surprising considering the prices that they are being sold for. The most expensive ticket for the final in December is priced at around $1600 dollars, much higher than the $1100 dollars, the same ticket cost in the last World Cup in Russia.
Moreover, only 2 million tickets are available to the general public during the entire tournament. As a result, for those matches where more ticket requests are available than the number of seats, the seats will be allotted after a random lottery.

The favorites for the World Cup
This time around, several teams are in contention for the top prize in Qatar. Heavyweights Brazil and France have built strong teams with world-class players in almost every position. France were the winners in the last edition of the competition, and have only improved their team with the return of Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema.
Nations like England, Argentina, and Spain have great teams too. England made it to the finals of the Euros in 2021 and lost the competition because of a penalty shootout. However, they have a young, talented team that can challenge for the top honors.
