PSG suffered a shocking Champions League exit last night at the hands of Real Madrid. The French Side had a one-goal lead going into the second leg of the tie. At halftime, Paris Saint Germain had a two-goal advantage, thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s stunning strike in the first half. But Karim Benzema scored thrice in the second half to take Real Madrid through to the quarterfinals.
But PSG manager, Mauricio Pochettino, believes Benzema’s first goal should have been ruled out. PSG conceded the first goal after the Real Madrid center-forward pressurized PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma into a mistake.
It so happened that as the PSG goalie was about to clear the ball, Benzema chased him down and tackled him. As a result, the Italian international lost possession of the ball in a dangerous position.
